Marc-Eddy Norelia was named the Atlantic Sun Championship MVP, capping an impressive week for the redshirt-junior. Norelia posted two double-doubles, guiding the Eagles to a trip to the A-Sun Championship game where he scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Norelia opened the week with a 14 point, 12 rebound performance in a 76-64 victory over Kennesaw State in the A-Sun Quarterfinals. As the No. 4 Eagles went on the road to No. 1 UNF, the Orlando-native scored a game-high 23 points while collecting 13 more rebounds to lead everyone on the court as FGCU dominated UNF 89-56 to head to the championship. With FGCU searching for its second NCAA Tournament berth in program history, Norelia tallied 16 points with nine rebounds to help the Green and Blue to an 80-78 overtime win. In total, the redshirt-junior averaged 17.7 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game.Â
