Who We Are
The Hartley Academic Resource Center (HARC) is dedicated to supporting the academic success of FGCU student-athletes. A partnership between
Academic Engagement and Athletics, the HARC’s purpose is to help student-athletes become skilled, independent learners who reach their academic goals.
What We Do
Academic Support:
- Academic Plans & Monitoring: Personalized academic plans to track progress.
- Eligibility Assessments & Registration: Support with class registration and academic eligibility.
- Degree Completion: Assisting current and former student-athletes in completing their degree. Former student-athletes, click here to learn more about our Degree Completion Program.
- Study Hall: Quiet, dedicated space for focused study time.
- Tutoring: Help students build academic confidence and develop skills to understand and apply course concepts in Math, Business, and Science courses.
- Writing Lab: Assistance with writing and editing at any stage.
- Computer Lab: Access to computers and printers for academic needs.

Student-Athlete Development:
- Career Readiness: Workshops and resources to prepare student-athletes for life after graduation, including resume building, job search strategies, and interview skills.
- Personal Enhancement: Programs focused on leadership development, personal growth, and life skills to help student-athletes succeed in competition and life.
- Commitment to Service: Our student-athletes average over 6,000 hours of community service every year. We encourage volunteerism and give back to the community through various outreach programs and service projects.
- Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC): A student-led organization that advocates for the needs of student-athletes, fostering leadership, teamwork, and a sense of community across FGCU Athletics.

- 94% Graduation Success Rate (GSR), ranking #1 in Florida and the ASUN Conference.
- 6,000+ hours of community service contributed by student-athletes every year.
