FGCU women’s basketball team defeated Bethune-Cookman with Whitney Knight leading the team in the first round of the WNIT. The Eagles earned the 78-51 victory to move to 29-5 on the season. Knight led all players with 21 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. The Green and Blue started with a 12-2 run to claim the lead and Knight sparked the team to another 12-4 run to open the second half. The redshirt senior scored a game-high 28-points while FGCU held the lead through the final whistle. The Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year helped the Eagles to advance to the WNIT’s Second Round for the fourth time in program history.
