FGCU’s Colton Bottomley earned his first career Atlantic Sun Player of the Week after an impressive offensive performance. The senior outfielder had three multi-hit games totaling eight hits during the week against USF and Illinois. Bottomley went 8-for-16 from the plate and knocked in five RBI including a career-high four on Tuesday. He batted .500 during four games against 2015 NCAA Tournament teams and is currently riding a seven-game hit streak and turned in multiple hits in three of four games last week. In addition, the senior right fielder scored the game-tying run in a win over 2015 Big Ten Champs Illinois on Sunday. Bottomley did not commit an error in the field while drawing two walks and scoring four runs.
