Joe Dincecco enters his third season with FGCU as an assistant coach in 2016. In his role, Dincecco assists with FGCU’s recruiting, scouting and player development.
Dincecco is part of an FGCU program which owns the longest home regular-season conference unbeaten streak in the nation. The Eagles have not lost a home regular-season Atlantic Sun Conference game since 2008, a stretch of 28 in a row in which the Green and Blue are unbeaten (25-0-3).
Dincecco aided in the development of three players moving on to the professional ranks following the 2015 season. Midfielder Rodrigo Saravia was selected with the 19th pick in the First Round of the MLS SuperDraft by Columbus Crew SC, defender Aaron Guillen signed a Homegrown Contract with FC Dallas and goalkeeper Nathan Ingham inked a deal with FC Edmonton. Saravia was tabbed as the A-Sun Player of the Year, Guillen was the A-Sun Defensive Player of the Year and Ingham was the A-Sun Goalkeeper of the Year.
The Eagles claimed an unprecedented sixth-straight ASUN regular-season title in 2015 with a 4-0-1 league mark and finished 7-4-3 overall. FGCU played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country, including games against three of the top-10 ranked teams nationally in the RPI. The Green and Blue were nationally ranked on several occasions, and climbed as high as #19 in the country.
In 2014, Dincecco helped lead the Eagles to a fifth-straight ASUN regular-season title, third ASUN Championship and third appearance in four years of eligibility in the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to his time at FGCU, Dincecco spent two seasons at Manhattanville College just outside New York City where he served as an assistant coach. Prior to his time with the 2012 Freedom Conference regular-season champions, Dincecco was a team administrator for the San Jose Earthquakes from December of 2007 through July of 2012. Dincecco was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Richmond, winning an Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season championship as a freshman in 2003 and serving as the team captain in his senior campaign in 2006.
During his time with Manhattanville, Dincecco worked alongside the 2012 Freedom Conference Coach of the Year, Gregg Miller, and expanded the program’s recruiting network by bringing in 26 players from seven different states and three countries. He monitored student-athletes’ academic progress through individual meetings, and in four semesters on staff the team posted a 3.22 GPA and received a 2012-13 NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Team Academic Award.
While with the Earthquakes, he managed team travel, including airline flights, ground transportation, meals, per diem stipends and game tickets for players, coaches, management and support staff. Dincecco worked directly with the franchise’s general manager to prepare preseason training schedules and set budgets. Furthermore, he created collegiate scouting reports, recommended free agents and assisted the coaching staff with executing the annual invite-only combine.
Dincecco began his professional career as a ticket sales representative with the Earthquakes from September 2007 through December of that same year. In that timeframe, he generated $430,000 in new ticket sales revenue – the highest of any employee – while also assisting in the planning and execution of marketing events and activities, including player appearances.
Dincecco holds a U.S. Soccer “B” Coaching License and a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Management from Richmond in 2007. He received his Master’s in Sports Business Management from Manhattanville in 2014.
