JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- After netting goals in both games last week, including one in their upset win over LSU, FGCU sophomore Kaitlin Gableman has been named the ASUN Player of the Week for week two of the 2026 season.
Gabelman drew her first start of the season on Thursday as the Eagles took on Southern in Baton Rouge, La. She made the most of her opportunity, playing a career high 45 minutes by finding the back of the net in the 85
th minute to cap a 4-0 FGCU victory over the Jaguars.
She was again in the Starting 11 on Sunday as the Eagles moved crosstown to battle the LSU Tigers. After the Eagles fell behind early with LSU scoring 1:16 in, Gabelman helped draw FGCU level 18 minutes later, finishing a cross from
Keira Morgan for her second tally in as many games. FGCU would get another first half goal and open their lead to two goals on a penalty kick in the second half before hanging on to knock off the Tigers 3-2.
Gabelman and the Eagles return to the pitch on Thursday when they begin a five game homestand at Pickering Field when they take on FIU in a 7 p.m. kick from Fort Myers.
