DORAL, Fla. - Beginning Monday the 29th, the Eagles will head to Doral Fla. to take part in the Pat Bradley Invitational. FGCU will be one of 11 teams participating over the two days. The field includes Barry University, Daytona State College, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, High Point University, Seminole State College Florida, Stephen F. Austin State University , Stetson University, the University of Cincinnati, the University of South Florida, and the University of the Incarnate Word.
The FGCU women's golf team tied for fifth at the Lady Paladin Invitational, led by junior
Jordan Fischer's standout performance. Fischer finished tied for second overall at seven-under, just one stroke off the lead, and carded the weekend's best round with a 67 in the opening round. She also led the field with 17 birdies.
Islay Benoit tied for 27th at +3, while
Sydney Deal and
Amelie Alcantara tied for 34th at +6, and
Lousiane Gauthier tied for 45th at +8. As a team, FGCU totaled 53 birdies, matching invitational champion Alabama for the most in the field.
Following the Pat Bradley Invite, the Eagles will travel to Tulsa, Okla. to compete in the Dale McNamara Invitational, hosted by the University of Tulsa from Oct. 13-14.
