TULSA, Okla. - The FGCU Women's Golf team will travel northwest to Tulsa, Oklahoma to take part in the University of Tulsa's Route 66 Invitational honoring Dale McNamara on Oct. 13-14. The Eagles will be represented by
Lousiane Gauthier,
Amelie Alcantara,
Islay Benoit,
Anne Yost, and
Sydney Deal.
The Route 66 Invitational will take place at the Cedar Ridge Country Club, which is a par 71, 6,181 yard course. Teams participating in this invitational include: Tulsa, Wisconsin, Montana State, Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, Rutgers, Sam Houston, BYU, Cal Poly, Minnesota, Georgia Southern, and Oral Roberts. Rounds one and two will start at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning, with the final round taking place at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. All three rounds will have shotgun starts.
The last time out for the Eagles was at the Pat Bradley Invitational, where the team finished 5th out of the 12 participating teams.
Amelie Alcantara led the way for the Eagles, shooting four-over for a three-round total of 220 to land in eighth place. Over the three rounds, Alcantara produced ten birdies.
Lousiane Gauthier ended up at seven-over, giving FGCU two individuals inside the top 20. Alcantara became the third different FGCU player to lead the team in scoring this fall. Freshman
Anne Yost, who played in the tournament as an individual, shot six-over with six birdies over the two-day event.
After the conclusion of the Route 66 Invitational, the Eagles will go on a break from competition until the calendar changes to 2026.
