Eagles Place Fourth at Route 66 Invitational

TULSA, Okla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf team wrapped up its fall season on Tuesday at the Route 66 Invitational honoring Dale McNamara, securing a fourth-place team finish. The tournament, hosted by the University of Tulsa at Cedar Ridge Country Club, featured 14 programs from across the nation.

Sydney Deal led the Eagles shooting two-over for a total of 215 across three rounds, placing her in a tie for 11th overall. Amelie Alcantara followed at five-over (T-20), while Lousiane Gauthier finished seven-over (T-25), giving FGCU three golfers inside the top 25. Anne Yost and Islay Benoit rounded out the lineup, both carding 12-over to tie for 42nd. Deal became the fourth different Eagle this fall to pace the team in scoring.

As a group, the Eagles tallied 36 birdies throughout the tournament, 15 of which came from Deal, tying her for the most in the field. Her strongest performance came in the opening round, where she sank six birdies. Across the event, Deal recorded birdies on 10 different holes.

The Eagles will go on a break from competition until January, where they will travel to Orlando, Fla. for the PDI Intercollegiate, hosted by UCF.
