FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Gulf Coast University's men's and women's cross-country teams will continue their season Friday evening at the 2025 Ed Holloway XC Classic, hosted by Florida Southern.
The meet will feature a competitive field that includes Florida Atlantic, FIU, Stetson and host Florida Southern. The men's race is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by the women's race at 6:45 p.m. at Holloway Park.
The Eagles are coming off strong performances at the Louisville Classic two weeks ago. Freshman
Tess Shultz led the FGCU women with a time of 17 minutes, 48.1 seconds — the second-fastest 5K by a freshman in program history. Shultz improved on her previous mark of 17:56.75 from the Southern Showcase..
Alise Petrova followed with a time of 17:58.8 to place 58th. On the men's side,
Innocent Ntwali was the first Eagle to cross the line, finishing in 24:36.3 for 39th place.
Evan Casterline clocked in at 24:59.9 to take 67th.
