JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Following back-to-back shutouts to open ASUN Conference action, defender Hanna Phillips and goalkeeper Madara Bome were honored by the league on Monday as Phillips was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week and Bome the ASUN Goalkeeper of the week for week seven of the 2026 season.
 
Phillips earn her first career ASUN Defensive Player of the Week award after anchoring the FGCU back line in the opening week of conference play. At the center back position, Phillips helped the Eagles to back-to-back shutouts of Queens and West Florida last week. Thursday against Queens she helped the Eagles limit the Royals to just one shot in a 3-0 FGCU win, while Saturday she and the Eagle defense yielded just three shots on goal in a scoreless draw with West Florida. Phillips played all 180 minutes in the two contests.
 
Bome was the final line of defense for the Eagles in the two shutouts, earning her third career ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week honor. Thursday against Queens she stopped the only shot she faced in the game, logging 82 minutes as part of her fourth shutout of the season. Sunday against West Florida she was up to the task once again, making three saves in the Eagles scoreless draw with the Argos. It was Bome's third solo clean sheet of the season and her seventh of her Eagles career.
 
The Eagles have now had five different players earn Player of the Week honors this season as Phillips and Bome join Lily Borders (Week 5- Player), Sarah Greiner (Week 5-Defensive), and Kaitlin Gabelman (Week 2- Player).
 
Phillips, Bome, and the Eagles make their first ASUN road trip of the season this week, heading to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Lipscomb in a 7 p.m. (ET) start Thursday before traveling to Louisville, Ky. For a 12:30 p.m. (ET) start Sunday against Bellarmine.
