FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles (4-1-3, 1-0-0) will attempt to finish a five-game homestand unbeaten on Sunday as they host the Argonauts of the University of West Florida (4-1-1, 0-0-1) for the first time in program history at Pickering Field in Fort Myers. It's a matchup of the ASUN's top scoring offense in FGCU against the league's stingiest defense in West Florida, kicking off at 1 p.m.. 

The Eagles enter Sunday's matchup flying high, riding a six-game unbeaten streak following a dominating 3-0 win in their ASUN opener on Thursday against Queens. FGCU outshot the Royals 29-1 in the victory, their largest shot disparity since 2022 against Southern when they were +29 against the Jaguars, and the widest margin against an ASUN opponent since a +29 against Jacksonville in 2019. Kate Friday and Kiera Morgan scored their first goals of the season for FGCU in the win, giving the Eagles 10 different goal scorers through their first eight games of the year while Kaitlin Gabelmen netted her team-leading fourth of the year with a left-footed strike in the 8^th minute of the contest. The shutout continues a trend for the Eagles at home, giving FGCU eight clean sheets in their past 11 regular season contests at Pickering Field. 

West Florida is off to a quick start in their first season at the Division I level. The Argonauts enter Sunday 4-1-1 overall after suffering their first defeat of the year Thursday in their maiden ASUN contest against Stetson. West Florida has netted 12 goals in six games thus far, putting them just behind FGCU's 2.13 goals per game as the top scoring team in the league early on. Their defense has been their calling card, conceding just five goals through their first six fixtures this season. 
The Eagles and Argos have not met before on the pitch. 

Sunday's 1 p.m. kick will be highlighted off the turf at Pickering Field by the annual Socctober Fest activities which include a ticket promotion where fans can get two tickets and two FGCU steins for just $25 as well as special Socctober Fest cuisine in the concession stand during the game. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
