FORT MYERS, Fla. – Riding a five-game unbeaten streak, the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles head into ASUN Conference play on Thursday where they host the Queens Royals in a 7 p.m. start at Pickering Field in Fort Myers.
 
The Eagles take the pitch for the first time in 12 days to open conference play on Thursday, sporting a 3-1-3 record after a challenging nonconference slate.
 
The Eagles have gotten things going on the offensive end during their five-game unbeaten streak, finding the back of the net 14 times after being held scoreless in each of their first two games of the year. Their last time out they put it together on both ends of the field, netting a pair of goals and shutting out High Point in a 2-0 victory back on Sept. 12. Sarah Greiner and Lily Borders were the Eagles goal scorers in the win with Greiner earning ASUN Player of the Week and Borders ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honors after the effort.
 
Pickering Field has proven a big home field advantage for the Eagles over the past calendar year as they are 7-0-3 in Fort Myers over their last 10 regular season contests, outscoring their opponents 35-7 during the stretch.
 
Queens comes into ASUN action reeling a little bit after going just 1-6-1 while being shutout five times during nonconference play. The Royals keepers have faced a barrage of shots this season as both players they have used in net rank in the top five in the ASUN in saves, but they have also conceded 20 goals which is the most of any team in the conference.
 
Thursday's contest will be the sixth all-time between the Eagles and Royals with FGCU holding a 3-1-1 advantage in the series. FGCU has dominated at home against Queens, winning all three games by a combined score of 11-1 including a 2-0 shutout last season. Queens' lone win in the series came last year in Charlotte when they shocked the Eagles 1-0 for their only ASUN loss of the 2025 campaign.
 
Kickoff Thursday is set for 7 p.m. at Pickering Field with the game streaming on ESPN+.
