FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf head coach Shannon Sykora has announced the roster for the 2026-27 season, as the Eagles look to return to the top of the ASUN. The group blends returning talent with a junior college transfer and a strong freshman class.

"I'm excited about this group heading into the season," said Sykora. "It's a young team, but we've added talent that raises our ceiling. Between our returners' experience from last year and what our newcomers bring to the table, I think this group will make an impact going forward."

Sydney Deal, a junior, earned Second Team All-ASUN honors last season after posting a 73.6 scoring average across 10 tournaments, highlighted by a sixth-place finish at the ASUN Championship. She led the Eagles in multiple events throughout the year and finished the season nationally ranked No. 383.

Anne Yost, now a sophomore, posted a 74.3 scoring average in her freshman campaign, with a best finish of 14th at the Pat Bradley Invitational.

Gia Culler-Guerra returns for her sophomore season after a debut campaign that included a 26th-place finish at the Pat Bradley Invitational and a 74.5 scoring average.

Ann Burel joins the Eagles as a junior transfer from Eastern Florida State College, where she was ranked No. 7 nationally in the NJCAA last season, posting a 75.1 scoring average with three tournament victories and a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA District 8 Championship.

FGCU's freshman class includes Sarah Hyten, the 2025 Illinois 1A State Champion who posted a 70.6 senior-year scoring average, Charlene Lamb, a two-time Athlete of the Year honoree at Cactus Shadows High School, and Veronika Niklin, an IMG Academy product and two-time NYC PSAL champion who competed in the First Tee Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach.

The Eagles open the 2026-27 season at the Pan-Pacific UGSL Tournament in Shizuoka, Japan, running Sept. 2-4, before returning stateside to continue their pursuit of another ASUN Championship.
