How It Happened
Alcantara got off to an even-par start on the front nine, playing the first four holes at par before a bogey on hole five pushed her to 1-over. She bounced back immediately with a birdie on the par-5 sixth to return to even, finishing the outward half with a 36. The back nine was where she made her move, picking up birdies on holes 10 and 16 before closing with a birdie on the par-5 18th to sign for a 35 inward and a 71. A bogey on hole 12 and another on hole 13 were the only blemishes on an otherwise impressive round. Over three rounds, Alcantara finished with 10 birdies, fifth most in the field, and 38 pars, tied for fifth most.

Deal was steady throughout the final round, playing the first seven holes at even par before a bogey on hole eight and a birdie on hole nine brought her to even at the turn with a 36. The back nine was largely steady, with a bogey on hole 12 the lone setback as she posted a 37 inward for a 1-over 73. Through three rounds, Deal recorded nine total birdies, tied for the sixth most in the field, and 37 pars, tied for eighth most.

Gauthier had a difficult final round, carding a 7-over 79 to finish the championship at 7-over. A double bogey on hole two and a double bogey on hole five gave her a rocky start, though birdies on holes four and six provided some relief on the front nine before a bogey on hole eight led to a 40 outward. The back nine offered little reprieve, as bogeys on holes 11, 13, 15 and 16 offset a birdie on hole 10 for a 39 inward. Over three rounds, Gauthier recorded eight total birdies, tied for the 15th most in the field, and 32 pars, tied for 20th most.

Benoit bounced back from a difficult second round with a 2-over 74 on Sunday, climbing 12 spots up the leaderboard to finish tied for 20th. She opened with a bogey on hole one but steadied quickly, picking up birdies on holes four and six before bogeys on seven and eight brought her back to 1-over at the turn with a 37. The back nine mirrored the front, as a birdie on hole 17 offset bogeys on holes 11 and 16 for a 37 inward. Over three rounds, Benoit finished with seven total birdies, tied for the 21st most in the field.

Wulfers moved up six spots on Sunday despite a challenging 5-over 77, finishing the championship tied for 31st at 14-over. A double bogey on hole three and a bogey on hole eight led to a 39 outward half. On the back nine, a birdie on hole 11 provided a bright spot, but bogeys on holes 14, 16 and 17 led to a 38 inward.

As a team, FGCU finished with 40 total birdies over three rounds, tied for the second most in the field, and recorded 166 pars, third most in the championship tournament.

Coach's Corner
Head Coach Shannon Sykora - "It's always disappointing when you don't win the last tournament of the season, but so proud of this team and the three seniors."
