LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The FGCU Women's Golf team will travel west to Litchfield Park, Arizona to compete in the Bell Bank "Pay it Forward" Collegiate on March 23-24. The Eagles will be represented by
Sydney Deal,
Leonie Wulfers,
Lousiane Gauthier,
Amelie Alcantara and
Islay Benoit.
The Bell Bank "Pay it Forward" Collegiate will take place at the Wigwam Golf Club - Blue Course, which is a par 71, 6,373-yard layout featuring 18 holes. Teams participating in the tournament alongside FGCU include: California Irvine, Creighton, Grand Canyon, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota (host), Montana State Bozeman, Nebraska Omaha, North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Florida, St. Thomas, Utah Tech, and Western Michigan.
The last time out for the Eagles was at the Gators Invitational, where FGCU finished ninth overall after three rounds at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
Sydney Deal led the way, tying for 30th at 8-over par following rounds of 73, 72 and 73, while also recording eight birdies.
Leonie Wulfers followed, tying for 45th at 14-over with rounds of 77, 74 and 73.
Lousiane Gauthier finished tied for 48th at 15-over, highlighted by an opening-round 71 and seven total birdies.
Amelie Alcantara rounded out the lineup, placing tied for 59th at 20-over after rounds of 76, 79 and 75.
As a team, the Eagles posted rounds of 294, 297 and 296 to finish at 47-over par, tallying 31 birdies, the fifth-most in the field, while also tying for eighth in total pars with 158 against a competitive field that featured multiple nationally ranked programs.
Following the Bell Bank "Pay it Forward" Collegiate, FGCU will close out the regular season at the Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic in Athens, Georgia on March 28-30 at the University of Georgia Golf Course.
