GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf team completed the second round of the Gators Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Mark Bostick Golf Course. The Eagles sit in ninth place overall at 31-over through 36 holes in a field that features several nationally ranked programs.
In the second round, the Eagles posted a 17-over team score to remain in ninth place overall through 36 holes.
Sydney Deal led FGCU with a 2-over 72, while
Gia Culler-Guerra and
Leonie Wulfers each carded 4-over rounds.
Lousiane Gauthier added a 7-over 77, and
Amelie Alcantara rounded out the lineup with a 9-over 79 as the Eagles completed day two of competition.

Sydney Deal paced FGCU in round two, finishing the day tied for 26th overall at 5-over after carding a 2-over 72 in the second round. Deal put together a steady round highlighted by four birdies across the round and consistent play across both nines to be the Eagles' top performer heading into the final day.
Gia Culler-Guerra and
Lousiane Gauthier are both tied for 39th at 8-over after two rounds. Culler-Guerra posted a 4-over 74 in round two, while Gauthier recorded a 7-over 77 on Saturday. Both golfers have been aggressive on the course, each recording six birdies through the first 36 holes to rank among the tournament leaders in that category.
Leonie Wulfers sits in 51st place at 11-over following a 4-over 74 in the second round.
Amelie Alcantara rounds out the Eagles' lineup in 67th place at 15-over after posting a 9-over 79 in round two.
As a team, the Eagles have recorded 23 birdies through two rounds, tied for the fourth-most in the tournament field. Gauthier, Culler-Guerra, and Deal each lead FGCU with six birdies apiece, showcasing the team's ability to generate scoring opportunities despite the difficult conditions.

FGCU will return to the course Sunday morning for the final round of the Gators Invitational as the Eagles look to climb the leaderboard in Gainesville.
