JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The FGCU women's golf team will travel north to Jacksonville to compete in the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate on Feb. 23-24 at the Jacksonville Golf & Country Club. The Eagles will be represented by
Leonie Wulfers,
Anne Yost,
Sydney Deal,
Islay Benoit, and
Amelie Alcantara.
The Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate will take place at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club, an 18-hole course that plays as a par 72 at 6,348 yards. Teams participating in the event include Augusta, Campbell, Eastern Kentucky, Furman, Jacksonville, Miami, North Florida (host), No. 29 Oklahoma State, Old Dominion, Sam Houston, South Alabama, Tulsa, and South Florida.
The last time out for the Eagles came at the UCF Challenge Presented by PDI in Orlando, where FGCU finished seventh as a team at 1-over par. Wulfers led the way for the Eagles, finishing tied for fourth overall at 7-under for the tournament. After holding sole possession of the individual lead following the second round, Wulfers remained among the top contenders through the final round and finished among the leaders while tying for ninth in the field with 11 total birdies over the three-day event.
Deal finished 1-over for the tournament to place 24th overall, while Benoit carded a 4-over total to finish tied for 41st. Yost followed at 5-over to finish tied for 47th, and Alcantara rounded out the FGCU lineup at 7-over for the week, tying for 56th.
Following the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate, the Eagles will return to competition at the Gators Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., hosted by Florida on March 6-8 at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
