Women's tennis announces 2025-26 schedule

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women's tennis team has unveiled its full 2025-26 schedule, promising a season filled with tournaments, ranked opponents, and a strong finish at home.

"The team is very excited to compete in the upcoming spring schedule," said head coach Courtney Vernon. "We have a lot of home matches leading up to the conference championships which we have the privilege of hosting in April."

The Eagles will begin their fall season with the Battle of Boca tournament on October 4-5. After that, they return home to Fort Myers to host Keiser on October 10. Later in October, the team will travel to Orlando for the ITA Regionals from October 15 through October 17. As the fall semester winds down, FGCU will close it out by competing in the Bonita Bay Collegiate Classic at the Bonita Bay Club from November 7 to 9.

When the new year arrives, the season resumes in January with FGCU heading to No. 53  Miami for a matchup on January 14. The Eagles will then enjoy a four-match home stand, beginning January 16 against St. John's, then facing Miami of Ohio on the 17th, Florida A&M on the 23rd, and Middle Tennessee State University on the 25th.

February begins with away games, first at USF on February 6, followed by a contest at No.27 FAU on February 13. After those road matches, FGCU returns home for five straight matches: Mercer will visit on February 20, Arkansas State on the 22nd, Barry on February 28, No. 46 Furman on March 3, and Toledo will round out that home stretch.

In early March, the Eagles will hit the road again, playing at North Alabama on March 7 and then at Lipscomb the very next day. Following that, FGCU will return to home courts for the remainder of the regular season.

The FGCU Tennis Complex will host Cleveland State on March 11 and Liberty on March 13. From there, ETSU comes to Fort Myers on March 17, followed by No. 73 Harvard on March 19.

As April approaches, FGCU will take on Brown on March 25, North Florida on April 3, and finally North Alabama again on April 5 in a non-conference showdown.

Last season, the Eagles posted a 12-9 overall record, including a 6-3 mark in league play.
