FGCU’s Match at Miami Postponed, Eagles to Host St. John’s Friday

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Due to inclement weather in Miami, the Florida Gulf Coast University women's tennis team will have to wait a few more days to begin its spring schedule. Wednesday's match at Miami has been postponed and is rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 21.

The Eagles will now open the season at home against St. John's. FGCU leads the all-time series 3–0 and last defeated the Red Storm, 4–1, on March 4. FGCU finished the 2025 season with a 12–9 overall record, including a 6–3 mark in ASUN play.

St. John's went 14–7 overall with a 5–1 record in the Big East last season, while Miami finished 10–13 overall and 4–8 in ACC play in 2025.

Following the opener on Friday, the Eagles will host Miami (Ohio) on Saturday at 10 a.m. The RedHawks finished last season 10–10 overall and 9–1 in the Mid-American Conference.
