FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida Gulf Coast University women's Tennis team delivered the best performance in program history at the 2025 Bonita Bay Club Collegiate Open, held Friday through Sunday in Bonita Bay, Fla.

Head coach Courtney Vernon said, "The ladies played phenomenally this weekend and fought for each match. The way the freshmen compete with no fear and are taking feedback is quite impressive. The people at the Bonita Bay Club who support this event are amazing! We want to first thank them so much for once again hosting one of the top collegiate events in the country, if not the top event."

On Friday, the Eagles faced off against UNA and doubles winners included Anjali Kotecha and Nora Svensson with a 7-5 victory, and newcomers Sabarina Jaramillo and Cecilie Johannessen Maeland secured a 7-5 win as well. In singles, Green & Blue took six out of the seven matches.

On Saturday, the Eagles took on Colorado women's tennis. Kotecha and Svensson earned another doubles win, 6-3. In singles, five FGCU players delivered victories to close out day two.

On Sunday, in the final day of action against No. 75 Memphis, the Eagles' doubles teams of  June Bjork /Africa Burillo (6-4) and Paloma Goldsmith / Ashley Matz (6-3) won.

In singles, FGCU won three out of five matches and earned the most points across the weekend.
