FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast women's tennis will now open the season against St. John's on Friday and Miami (Ohio) on Saturday. The Eagles' original season opener was set for Wednesday against Miami, but it was postponed because of inclement weather in Miami, Florida.
FGCU leads the all-time series against St. John's 3-0 and last defeated the Red Storm, 4-1, on March 4, 2025. The Eagles finished the 2025 season with a 12-9 overall record, including a 6-3 mark in ASUN play.
St. John's went 14-7 overall with a 5-1 record in Big East play last season, while Miami finished 10-13 overall and 4-8 in Atlantic Coast Conference play in 2025.
Following the opener on Friday, the Eagles will host Miami (Ohio) on Saturday at 10 a.m. The RedHawks finished last season 10-10 overall and 9-1 in the Mid-American Conference.
