Ninad Raut nearly secured a win on court six before the match was clinched 4-0 in favor of UCF over Florida Gulf Coast University men's tennis Friday in Orlando, Florida, at the USTA National Campus on Friday.
Raut won his first set 6-2 and was up 4-2 in the second set before the match on court three finished, clinching the match for the Knights. FGCU now moves to 0-4 on the season, while UCF improves to 4-0.
In doubles competition, court one with the pairing of
CJ Smith and
Hugo Magnusson were tied 5-5 but their match went unfinished after UCF locked up the doubles point with wins on courts two and three.
The Eagles will fly back into action tomorrow against Southern Miss at 1 p.m.
