Alcantara named Second Team All-ASUN

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Amelie Alcantara appeared in the Atlantic Sun Conference's postseason awards Monday by landing on the ASUN Second Team, as announced by the league office.

"Amelie works really hard and has had some good performances this past year for us," head coach Shannon Sykora said.

Alcantara becomes the 25th women's golfer in FGCU history to land on the all-conference lists and the highest of any Eagle since the 2022 season.

Alcantara joined FGCU this season after spending her freshman year up at Eckerd. In her sophomore season with the Eagles, she posted top-five, four top-10, and four top-25 performances. She placed no lower than 24th on the player leaderboard in her last six outings.

She held a team-leading 74.1 round average over 26 rounds and competed in all 10 events for the Green and Blue. Alcantara placed fifth at the Spring Break Shootout (-5), a season-best, and produced a seventh-place effort at Sea Best Intercollegiate.

The Ocala native finished 16th at the Puerto classic with three straight under-par rounds, guiding FGCU to a convincing team title by seven strokes. At the ASUN Championship, Alcantara placed 24th overall.

She carded eight par or better rounds, including three in the 60s, with a season-low round of 68.
