Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf finished sixth at the 2024 ASUN Championship as Leonie Wulfers emerged tied for fifth overall Tuesday in Huntsville, Alabama.

FGCU closed the opening round tied for third, ended round two in sixth place and produced another 297 performance during Tuesday's final round to remain in sixth. The Eagles (+20) produced their best round of the tournament Monday, a 290 effort.

Kennesaw State (E) overtook Lipscomb (+2) to win the team title by two shots. Lipscomb's Lauren Thompson captured the individual crown at 11-under-par. She fired an eight-under 64 in the second round, the lowest round ever recorded at an ASUN Championship.

Wulfers (+1) put herself into contention and ultimately tied for fifth place. The sophomore placed higher than any Eagle at the ASUN Championship since 2021. She signed a season-low round 69 Monday, the best round of any Eagle at the event this season, to go along with a pair of 74s. Wulfers finished with her second top-five performance of the year.

Amelie Alcantara (+7) tied for 24th, and Anna Claire Bridge (+8) tied for 28th overall as the next closest Eagle spotted on the player leaderboard. Alcantara also notched her best round on moving day, an even-par 72, and even climbed up three more positions Tuesday.

Bridge sank 10 of her 11 birdies throughout the tournament on the front nine, closing with a 73 scorecard on Tuesday to soar up another seven spots in the final standings.

FGCU capped the 2023-24 campaign with one tournament victory and four top-three team finishes under second-year head coach Shannon Sykora.
