FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University women's golf flies south for the Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Ball State.
The Puerto Rico Classic begins Tuesday as FGCU is set to tee off at 7:30 a.m. (EST) on holes 7-10. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at Palmas Del Mar Golf Club upon the Flamboyan Course, a par 72, 6,026 yard test.
Only one 18 hole round is scheduled each day of competition. Twelve teams will meet in paradise.
Ball State, Cal Baptist, FGCU, Georgia State, Little Rock, Loyola, Northern Kentucky, Seattle, South Dakota, UNCG, Western Carolina and Wofford round out the 12-team field.
FGCU began the spring campaign back in January with a ninth place effort at the Sea Best Invitational. Amelie Alcantara tied for seventh to lead the FGCU starting five in Jacksonville, tying her season-best finish for her third top-10 performance of the 2023-24 season.
As a team, the Eagles are averaging 296.54 team score per round this season. Alcantara, Lousiane Gauthier, Posie Farrelly, Leonie Wulfers and Anna Claire Bridge will suit up for the Eagles.
