Izzy Ackley earned an NCAA B Cut in the 100 back (52.51) with her split in the 400 medley relay and
Bailey Betzer posted a zone qualifying score on the 1-meter with a mark of 266.90 at day one of the Phill Hansel Invitational in Houston. The Eagles currently sit at fourth.
Ackley's B Cut in the 100 back is just 0.23 seconds off the time that got invited to the NCAA Championships last year. She is still slated to compete in the 100 back on day two.
Betzer has already qualified for the zone meet during her time at Indiana State but now she has earned the zone qualifying score in a brand new zone. In her previous meet, she missed out on the zone score by 1.95 points. In this meet she, earned the score by 1.9 points. Betzer is the first Eagle to earn a zone cut since Reese Wakefield.
Bella Pfeil also qualified for finals on the 1-meter, placing 14th with a score of 248.90.
In the swimming pool,
Libby Russum won the 50 free after qualifying third out of prelims. Her time of 22.68 is good for seventh all-time in FGCU history.
Cassie Bauer and
Jordan Durocher also posted top performances in the 200 IM placing seventh and 12th, respectively, with times of 2:02.29 and 2:03.29.
The Green and Blue continue the Phill Hansel Invitational through Friday.
