Swimming and diving sign five to the 2025 class

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University swimming and diving have signed five swimmers on 2024 National Signing Day, the university and head coach Dave Rollins announced Thursday.

"We are very excited about this group of Eagles," Rollins said. "Not only do they bring a wealth of national and international experience in the pool, they are each world-class people whom will continue to build upon our culture and team atmosphere. Each has the ability to make an immediate impact as we look to build our program to bring home our next ASUN Championship as well as on the national stage."

Easton Glandt is landing in Fort Myers by way of Omaha, Nebraska. Glandt swam at Marian High School where she was a four-time All-American and won the state championship with her team in 2023. Glandt was ranked as the second best swimmer by Swimcloud from Nebraska in the 2025 class. Glandt has excelled in the IM, winning the 200 IM state championship in 2024 and never placing outside the top three in the event at the state championship meet in the past three seasons.

Ipek Aydiner comes to Southwest Florida from Istanbul, Turkey. Aydiner is well represented in the Turkish record books. She is part of two Turkish relay records, the open age group in the 4x50m relay on long course and the 17-year old short course meters women's medley relay where she swam the freestyle leg. As an individual, she placed first in the 200 and 400 IM at the Panhellenic Winter Games in Greece with long course meters times of 2:21.05 (200 IM) and 4:56.55 (400 IM).

Libby Freeman is the second international athlete from this class hailing from Bedlington, England. Freeman set her personal bests on long course in the 200 free (2:08.11) and 400 free (4:25.48) in her most recent meet in Lisbon, Portugal. She also posted her personal best in short course meters in the 100 back (1:01.42), 200 back (2:14.18) and 100 IM (1:04.49) at the most recent Scottish Short Course Championships.

Olivia Vecchio joins the Eagles from Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. She posted personal bests in the 50 back (26.66), 100 back (56.57) and 100 fly (57.26) at the 2024 PIAA District III Girls 3A Championship. Vecchio followed that performance by qualifying for the finals in the PIAA 3A State Championship in the 100 back with a time of 57.64. Vecchio is accomplished as a water polo player as well, earning First Team All-State honors.

Sydney Ringwald rounds out the 2025 signing class. Ringwald is from Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was ranked second by Swimcloud in Missouri. Ringwald is a sprint freestyler who won the 50 and 100 free state championship in 2024. She was also part of the 200 free relay state championship teams her sophomore and junior years and 400 free relay championship team her junior year.
