CINCINNATI – Florida Gulf Coast University men's golf finished fifth Tuesday to wrap up the Bearcat Invitational at Coldstream Country Club.

Andrew Danna said. "They did a good job with being consistent throughout the day. We were able to get a good result in a top-five finish this week with a strong finish as well. We'll look to continue to get better before we head up to Wisconsin next weekend."
FGCU improved each round of the event, shaving three strokes for a season-low round of 283 to climb up the leaderboard. The Eagles (+4) placed four strokes back of tournament host and fourth-place Cincinnati. Chattanooga paced the 17-team field at 14-under to capture the team title.
FGCU finished seven strokes better than Virginia Tech and nine shots better than Nebraska. Louisville's Sebastian Moss secured the individual title at 12-under, shooting a final-round 65.
Sebastian Gamboa led the FGCU starting five with a career-best eighth-place performance on the player leaderboard. Gamboa carded back-to-back under-par rounds, 67 and 68, to enter the clubhouse three-under for the tournament. Gamboa etched just a single blemish into his round-two scorecard consisting of 12 pars, five birdies and just one bogey.
Matt Millar tied for 22nd, opening the event by tying a team-low, four-under round of 67.
Joseph Sullivan tied for 30th at three-over.
As a team, FGCU was dialed on the par-three hole opportunities, tying BYU for the tournament lead in combined scoring.
FGCU returns to the course Oct. 1-3 for the Wisconsin Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin.
