FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU swimming and diving team and head coach
Dave Rollins have announced their summer technique and training camp to be held during the month of June.
The first of two technique camps will be at the FGCU Aquatics Center and will take from place June 2-6. The second technique camp is scheduled for June 16-20, while the 'Eagle Elite Training Camp' will occur from June 6-11.
Swimmers ages 8-18 who are interested in attending one of the technique camps have the option of doing so as an overnight or day camper. Registration for overnight campers, who will stay in the dorms on campus, is $599. Check-in for overnighters is at 5 p.m. Sunday and check-out is at noon Thursday. Day camper rate is $499. They're asked to be dropped off at 7:30 a.m. each morning and picked up at 5 p.m. each afternoon (excluding Thursday, which is a noon pick up). Group rates are available for groups of six or more who sign up together.
Technique campers will have the ability to refine and develop elite stroke technique. Along with developing stronger starts and turns for each of their events.
Swimmers ages 12-18 who are interested in attending the 'Eagle Elite Training Camp', also have an overnight, $699, or day camper, $599, option. The Eagle Elite Training Camp is designed to help athletes improve their overall skill level, while training in one of the most beautiful facilities in the country.
Eagle Swim Camps are led by FGCU head coach and two-time CCSA Coach of the Year,
Dave Rollins. Rollins has been coaching for over 13 years and has coached a 2016 Olympian, NCAA All-Americans as well as numerous collegiate conference champions and high school All-Americans. He was an NCAA Champion, a nine-time NCAA All-American and was inducted into the University of Arizona Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.
He will be joined by members of the nine-time CCSA Champion FGCU swimming team and coaching staff. Camps will be focused on teaching, refining and reinforcing elite swimming techniques. Campers of all skill levels will walk away with a deeper understanding of their strokes as well as their starts, turns and finishes.
Each camper will also receive a free t-shirt, have meals provided while on campus and have a once in a lifetime experience interacting with elite athletes. Additional camp features include a rock wall climbing activity, t-shirt tie-dye party, beachfront luau, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from Olympic Medalists. This year's Eagle Swim Camps is proud to partner with 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Misty Hyman, 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Tyler Clary and three-time Olympian along with four-time Olympic medalist Kara Lynn Joyce.

HEAD COACH DAVE ROLLINS
Head coach Dave Rollins is only the second coach in program history. He was hired Sept. 1, 2016 and recently wrapped his third season. Rollins has guided FGCU to back-to-back CCSA titles (2017, 2018), as well as the program's fourth-straight in 2018 and ninth championship in 10 years. In addition, he has been awarded CCSA Coach of the Year in each of his two seasons at the helm. Previously, Rollins was the associate head men's swimming coach at The Ohio State University. Rollins brings over a decade of coaching experience to The Nest, which includes Olympians, NCAA Champions and All-Americans, along with multiple conference champions. A native of Brockton, Mass., he was a standout collegiate swimmer in his own right and was inducted into the University of Arizona's Hall of Fame in 2017, as a nine-time NCAA All-American, national champion, school record holder and team captain.

ABOUT FGCU
FGCU teams have combined to win an incredible 75 conference regular season and tournament titles in just 11+ seasons at the Division-I level. Additionally, in just seven+ seasons of D-I postseason eligibility, the Eagles have had a combined 35 teams or individuals compete in NCAA championships. Seven FGCU programs have earned a top-25 national ranking in their respective sport – including both men's and women's soccer again in 2018. In 2016-17, the Green and Blue posted a department-best 6th-place finish in the DI-AAA Learfield Directors' Cup and top-100 showing nationally, ahead of several Power-5 and FBS institutions. FGCU also collectively earned a record 3.35 GPA in the classroom in the Spring, 2018 and had an ASUN Conference and State of Florida best five teams earn the NCAA's Public Recognition Award for their Academic Progress Rate in their sport. The Eagles also served an all-time high 7,200 volunteer hours – being recognized as one of two runner-ups for the inaugural NACDA Community Service Award presented by the Fiesta Bowl.
