@FGCU_WSwim Wraps of Events at Last Chance Meet

GAINESVILLE, FL – Swimmers Christina Kaas Elmgreen and Petra Halmai wrapped up their events at the Last Chance Meet Saturday afternoon at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center Natatorium on the campus of Florida.

"Very proud of how these two women finished their season," head coach Dave Rollins said. "Petra swam a new best time and Tina capped off one of the most successful swimming careers in school history. It's hard to see it end, but proud of them for trying to achieve their goal of reaching the NCAAs one more time."

Day one of the Last Chance Meet was highlighted by sophomore Halmai (Dombovar, Hungary/Lanczos Kornel Secondari Grammar School) producing a 1:00.44 swim in the 100 breast for a new best time. The mark becomes the second-fastest time in program history and also ranks 59th in the country.

In the finals of the 200 fly on day two, Elmgreen (Charlottenlund, Denmark/Ordrup Gymnasium) clocked in a time of 1:58.20, hitting the NCAA B standard mark.
