CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Following a two-week break from competition, the FGCU swimming and diving team is back in action with a dual meet against Miami Saturday in Coral Gables. FGCU (5-2, 2-0 CCSA) and Miami (0-1) are set to begin at 12:00 p.m. The meet also marks the first of the final two dual meets before the CCSA Championships (Feb. 14-17).
Â
"We are excited to get back on the road and compete with Miami," said head coach
Dave Rollins. "They are a strong, well-coached team that competes in a very tough ACC conference. We have been working on fine-tuning our race details in the pool and cleaning up some new dives on the boards. It will be great to see the progress we have made as we gear up for our championship season."
Â
FGCU and Miami met exactly one year ago (Jan. 20) with the Eagles dominating the Hurricanes 183-117 in Fort Myers. The victory last season gave FGCU its sixth-straight win and seventh in eight seasons. The Eagles have not lost to Miami since the 2010-11 season.
