FORT MYERS, Fla. '" The No. 17 Florida Gulf Coast University men'™s tennis team blanked Ferris State University 9-0 Friday afternoon at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
All six players in the lineup won two matches apiece. Senior
Richard Stempnowski (Cape Coral, FL) and senior
Jose Pastrello (Limiera, Brazil) teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles and then came through with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Junior
Juan Carlos Osorio (Quito, Ecuador) and junior
Tim Offerman (Hamburg, Germany) had similar success, teaming up at No. 2 doubles and finishing with wins at No.3 and No.5 singles, respectively.
Sophomore
Alberto Gutierrez (Bogotá, Columbia) and senior
Seth Fogelman (Naples, FL) paired for a win at No. 3 doubles and earned singles wins at No.4 and No.6.
FGCU, which improved to 5-1 with the win, hosts Division I Boston College on Sunday afternoon.
