Eagles wrap up home slate by hosting North Florida on Friday

Senior Day Ceremony to begin at 12:45 p.m.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU will wrap up its home regular season schedule Friday afternoon as the Eagles host ASUN foe North Florida at 1 p.m. Friday's match, held on campus at the FGCU Tennis Complex, will be highlighted nationally as part of the ITA's College Tennis Weekend.

Mika Bunjes, Stavros Hadjivarnava, Gustav Hasslegren and Pablo Paternostro – who are all scheduled to graduate this year – will be recognized in that Senior Day Ceremony before the match.

The inaugural Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) College Tennis Weekend, powered by CourtReserve, will take place March 27-29. The event promotes the college tennis community, with the ITA encouraging host programs to engage fans through match-day events. FGCU's home regular season finale and Senior Day will be part of the highlighted matches promoted by the ITA.

The Eagles (8-11, 1-0 ASUN) are hosting a North Florida (10-7, 1-0) squad that has won two straight matches coming into Friday's action. UNF's previous ASUN action came on Mar. 20 in a 7-0 win over Lipscomb in Jacksonville.

UNF is led by Aron Major's 10-2 mark in dual match action this season, followed by Joao Portugal's 10-4 record. The Ospreys bring the reigning ASUN Player of the Week honoree in Andreas Scott to Fort Myers as well, who owns a 4-7 record in singles this year.

FGCU currently has a 3-3 mark at home this season and looks to finish the year with a winning record before hosting the ASUN Tournament on April 14-18.
