Biography
As A Senior (2018-19)
Two-time finalist at the 2019 CCSA Championships, placing third in the 200 fly (2:00.56) and seventh in the 100 fly (55.42)… Also competed in the diving portion of the meet.
As a Junior (2017-18)
Earned her best times at the Ohio State Invitational with 57.89 in the 100 yard butterfly, 2.04.86 in the 200 yard butterfly, and 2.09.42 in the 200 yard IM.
As A Sophomore (2016-17)
Did not compete this season.
As A Freshman (2015-16)
Finished 7th in both the 100 fly and 200 fly at the CCSA Championship in personal-best times of 55.42 seconds and 2:00.56, respectively… also recorded a career-best time in the 200 IM at CCSA Championship (2:04.20) … finished in a season-best 2nd place in the 200 fly in the dual meet at UNF and 4th in the event against nationally FSU … earned CCSA All-Academic recognition.
High School
Earned bronze during the 200-yard IM at the 2014-15 Iowa Girls State Championships with a time of 2:07.77 … finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.47 at the 2014-15 Iowa Girls State Championships … claimed bronze for the 200-yard IM in the 2013-14 Iowa Girls State Championships with a time of 2:08.82 … competed in the 2015 NCSA Junior Nationals ... attended Pleasant Valley High School.
Personal
Daughter of Curt and Kirstin Oppel ... has one sister, Ali ... health science major ... gymnastics is her favorite sport to watch.
