Lindsay Werntz spent one season as an assistant coach at FGCU in 2002-03.

Werntz reunited with head coach Karl Smesko, who was the head coach for Werntz at IPFW, where the duo posted a 19-8 record her senior year. Prior to attending IPFW, Werntz played one season at Arkansas State. In high school, Werntz was an all-state selection both her junior and senior years at Freeport High School in Illinois, while she averaged 19 points and four assists per game. She was an all-conference selection all four years and led her teams to two third-place finishes at the state championships her sophomore and junior seasons.
