Ellerbee scored 415 points in his freshman campaign, setting a new FGCU freshman scoring record … the Philadelphia native averaged 13.4 points per game on 48.2%/37.7%/72.8% shooting splits … he played 26.5 minutes per game and averaged 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals per game … Ellerbee had five 20-point games, including 42 against Kennesaw State in November, and 22 double-digit games in 31 games played, the most of any FGCU player … the 42-point game was the best scoring game by any player in the ASUN in 2025-26 … he scored double-digits in 13 of 18 ASUN games, including a stretch of 11 consecutive games in double-digits during ASUN … played 35+ minutes five times (four in conference play) … scored his first collegiate points in the season opener against New College (FL) (Nov. 3) … had his first career double-digit game with a 12 point, five rebound outing at Illinois (Nov. 7) … began a seven-game stretch of scoring in double-digits with 14 points on 3-for-4 shooting from 3-point range against Chattanooga (Nov. 15) … followed that up with 12 points in a road win at Samford (Nov. 19) and 13 points in a home win over Oral Roberts (Nov. 24) … scored 20 points for the first time in an overtime, comeback win over Rice (Nov. 25) … Ellerbee had arguably the best game in program history in the Eagles’ loss to Kennesaw State (Nov. 26) … the true freshman erupted for 42 points on 13-18 FG / 5-8 3PT / 11-14 FT with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and just one turnover … his game was the most efficient scoring performance in FGCU history, the Alico Arena scoring record, the second 40-point game and the 19th 30+ point game in program history, and was one point shy of the FGCU single-game scoring record … Ellerbee became one of just 73 players in NCAA history to record a game of 40+ points, 70%+ FG, 60%+ 3PT, 10 FGM, 5 3PTM+, per StatHead … more impressively, he's one of just five true freshmen to ever accomplish the feat, and the first to do so exactly eleven years to the day since it was last done, joining Eastern Washington's Rodney Stuckey (45 pts / 71.4% FG / 62.5% 3PT / 15 FGM / 5 3PM) on Jan. 1, 2006 vs Northern Arizona; Boston College's Olivier Hanlan (41 pts / 77.8% FG / 80% 3PT / 14 FGM / 8 3PTM) on March 14, 2013 vs Georgia Tech; NBA champion & North Carolina alum Harrison Barnes (40 pts / 70.6% FG / 75% 3PT / 12 FGM / 6 3PTM) on March 12, 2011 vs Clemson; and Iona's Schadrac Casimir (40 pts / 84.6% FG / 88.9% 3PT / 11 FGM / 8 3PTM) on Nov. 26, 2014 against Delaware State. Casimir later came to FGCU as a grad transfer … with the list expanded to true freshmen with 40+ point games, Ellerbee's performance is one of just 34 games (by 28 players) since 2006, also per StatHead. He joins a longer list littered with current and former NBA stars, including Cooper Flagg, Trae Young (4X), Cade Cunningham, Brandon Miller, Collin Sexton, Malik Monk, Ben Simmons, Andrew Wiggins, Michael Beasley (3X) and Tyler Hansbrough, among others. Washington State's Ace Glass III is the only other true freshman to have 40+ in 2025-26. Should either Glass III or Ellerbee score 40 again this year; they would join Young, Beasley and Antoine Davis (2X) as the only freshmen to have multiple 40-point games in their first season … Ellerbee is one of five players to score exactly 42 points (11 of the 34 games saw a player score 43 or more, led by Young & Davis scoring 48). Davis, Flagg, RJ Cole and Jawun Evans had the other 42-point outings by a freshman … JR Konieczny got a front row seat to a pair of the 42 point games, the latter as Ellerbee's teammate, scoring 28 for FGCU, and the former as Flagg's opponent, as the Maine Event torched Konieczny's former team in Notre Dame en route to his best scoring performance at Duke … Konieczny scored six (2-2 3PT) in the Irish's loss to the Blue Devils that evening … Ellerbee’s first half was the envy of many players’ full games … his 27 points in the half are more than any other Eagle had scored in a game prior to the tilt with the Owls/in regulation (Konieczny had 28 including overtime scoring against KSU) and would be tied for the sixth best full game scoring performance in the Chambers era at FGCU … only Eric McKnight (2014, 11-11) and Kevin Samuel (2022, 8-8) have made at least eight shots from the field in a full game in FGCU history; neither player attempted a 3-pointer in those outings … he scored FGCU’s first 17 points and 22 of the first 24 points in the game for the Eagles … he was the only Eagle to score in the first nine minutes … his 13 made field goals for the game are tied for the second most in a game in Division I program history … only Bernard Thompson (14) has hit more shots in a game than Ellerbee in Eagles history … Ellerbee has joined the short list of players to score more than 30 at FGCU … Tavian Dunn-Martin owns eight of those performances, the most of any player, all in 2021-22 … Shadrac Casimir has three 30+ point games, all in 2018-19 … Bernard Thompson is the only player with two 30+ point outings and the only one to do so in different seasons (2013-14, 2014-15) … Ellerbee added his name to the list of Brett Comer, Chase Fieler, Marc-Eddy Norelia, Zach Johnson and Brandon Goodwin with one career game surpassing 30 points in the Green & Blue … of that grouping, Ellerbee’s performance is the best in nonconference action and is the ninth 30-point showing outside of ASUN play … four of Dunn-Martin’s games, both of Thompson’s, Fieler’s and Norelia’s games are the others … half of those games – Fieler, Nov. 12; Dunn-Martin, Nov. 13; Thompson, Nov. 19; and Norelia, Nov. 21 – were earlier in the calendar year than Ellerbee’s; all but one of Dunn-Martin’s were in the regular season … he was named the ASUN Player & Newcomer of the Week for his efforts on the full week, which included back-to-back 20-point games after scoring a then-career high 20 points in the win over Rice … his 62 points over two games marked the best two-game scoring stretch in program history … he followed his 42-point masterpiece with 13 points and season-high eight rebounds at FIU (Dec. 3) … scored 14 against FAU (Dec. 7) … posted his third 20-point game in less than a month when he scored 21 points on 9-for-15 shooting from the field and 2-for-5 shooting from 3-point range at UCF (Dec. 20) … scored double-digits in conference play for the first time with 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field in a road win over North Alabama (Jan. 3) … posted 16 points and four assists against Austin Peay (Jan. 8) … kickstarted an 11-game stretch of scoring in double-digits with 16 points, five assists and four rebounds in a win over West Georgia (Jan. 17) … tallied 12 points in back-to-back games at Austin Peay (Jan. 22) and Lipscomb (Jan. 23) … scored 18 on 4-for-7 shooting from 3-point range in a win over North Alabama (Jan. 29) … had back-to-back 15 point games at Jacksonville (Jan. 31) and EKU (Feb. 5) … posted 12 at Bellarmine (Feb. 7) … had his fourth 20-point game with 22 on 8-for-11 shooting from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from 2-point range against North Florida (Feb. 11) … tallied 18 in a win over Stetson (Feb. 14) and 13 in a win over Jacksonville (Feb. 18) … led FGCU to a win over top-seeded Central Arkansas (Feb. 21) with 23 points on 9-for-21 shooting from the field and 5-for-11 shooting from 3-point range for his best performance in ASUN play.

The 2024-25 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year … scored 1,000 points for head coach Jason Harrigan at St. Joes Prep … averaged 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game as a senior … also named the PCL MVP.
