Pete Woodworth

Woodworth is a 2010 graduate of FGCU and is the program's all-time wins leader on the mound with 25. He enters his second season as an assistant on head coach Dave Tollett's staff and will work with a pitching staff that ranked third in the A-Sun with a 3.93 ERA in 2015.

Since leaving FGCU at the end of the 2010 season, Woodworth went on to sign as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Rays and pitch for the 2010 GCL Rays before returning to FGCU as a volunteer assistant coach from Aug. 2011-Feb. 2012. He then went on to serve as an area scout for the Rays for a season before joining the staff at Nova Southeastern University where he served as the pitching coach while also assisting with recruiting and scouting among other things. The Sharks pitching staff posted a 3.23 team ERA in 2014.

While at FGCU Woodworth compiled a 4.59 ERA for his career and posted a 25-9 record, making 39 starts and appearing in 61 games. In his senior season he collected a 9-2 record on a staff that included National Player of the Year and now three-time MLB All-Star Chris Sale. He struck out 67 batters that season and 261 overall while walking just 108.
