FORT MYERS, Fla. –  Florida Gulf Coast men's soccer will begin its second road swing of 2026 on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET at Houston Christian. 

FGCU is looking to bounce back after a close 2-1 loss to North Florida that saw the Ospreys score a late game-winning goal. 

The Eagles' offensive production against UNF came early, with a brilliant sequence of passing in the 16th minute. Brooks Beeman played it behind his back up the sideline to Rico Felix. Felix found Flavio D'Angelo, who delivered an excellent cross to Aron Martinez. Martinez promptly buried the ball in the back of the net for FGCU's lone goal of the contest.

A win over Virginia and an early season offensive outburst from Aron Martinez highlights FGCU's slate thus far. Martinez leads the squad and ranks tied for third in the ASUN with a trio of goals so far on the campaign. The Iowa Western transfer is also tied for fourth in the conference with seven points.

The Huskies enter at 2-3-1, with 1-0 wins over UMass Lowell and Grand Canyon. HCU tied 2-2 with Cal State Northridge, but fell 2-0 to its first ASUN opponent of the season in Jacksonville. Callum Niven leads Houston Christian with a pair of goals. Ryan Okerayi has a goal and assist, and Clarenns Sainrimat has also found the back of the net for the Huskies.

The Eagles lead the all-time series 1-0 with HCU after winning the first matchup between the two sides 2-0 in Fort Myers in 2025. Lucas Barsoe played all 90 minutes for FGCU in last year's win, while Job Choute took a team high five shots in 48 minutes.
