JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast men's soccer was picked to finish third in the 2026 preseason ASUN Coaches Poll, the conference announced Tuesday.
The Eagles received 51 points in the poll, behind only North Florida and Stetson. The Ospreys were a near-unanimous choice as the preseason league champion, earning eight of nine first place votes. The Hatters took the only other first place vote and were picked to finish second.
FGCU was selected at the top of a group of four teams in a seven-point span. Bellarmine (50 points), Lipscomb (47 points) and Jacksonville (44 points) were slated fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Central Arkansas, Queens and Division I-newcomer West Florida rounded out the coaches poll.
UNF dominated the 2026 Preseason All-ASUN team with seven of the 12 players and a sweep of the preseason superlative awards. Stetson was the only other squad to add multiple players, and Bellarmine, Central Arkansas and Jacksonville had one player each selected.
The Eagles will begin the regular season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 20 at Georgia Southern.
