FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast men's soccer head coach Oliver Twelvetrees announced the 2026 campaign on Wednesday.

The Eagles' 2026 slate features opponents from five conferences outside of the ASUN — the ACC, American, CAA, OVC and Sun Belt — highlighted by a first-ever matchup with Virginia, a pair of marquee in-state nonconference home contests against FIU and FAU, and eight conference matches, the most in one season since 2013. The Eagles enter 2026 with a new-look roster and plenty of motivation to make their mark on the ASUN.

"We believe in challenging ourselves at the highest level," Twelvetrees said. "By competing against programs from the ACC, American, CAA, OVC and Sun Belt, we're building the resilience and standard needed to be at our best in ASUN play. In-state rivalries at home against South Florida (preseason), Florida International, and Florida Atlantic will be great occasions to look forward to at Pickering Field."

The schedule opens with a trio of home exhibitions against USF at 6 p.m. on Aug. 8, Tampa at 10 a.m. on Aug. 14 and Florida Southern at 11 a.m. on Aug. 16.

The regular season kicks off on the road at Georgia Southern at 6 p.m. on Aug. 20. FGCU carries a 2-1-1 all-time record in the series. The Eagles then head to Charleston to face College of Charleston at 7 p.m. on Aug. 23, the first meeting between the programs since 2009.

The nonconference road swing continues at Liberty at 6 p.m. on Aug. 28. FGCU owns a 2-1 all-time mark against the Flames, who last met the Eagles in 2022. The Eagles then travel to face Virginia at 7 p.m. on Aug. 31 in a first-ever matchup between the programs.

ASUN play begins Sept. 5 with a road trip to West Florida at 7 p.m., marking the first-ever meeting between the programs as the Argonauts join the ASUN as a new Division I member this season. The Eagles return home to Pickering Field to face North Florida at 7 p.m. on Sept. 12. FGCU holds a 15-4-7 all-time advantage against the Ospreys and won the most recent matchup 1-0 last season.

A two-game Texas road trip follows, with FGCU traveling to Houston Christian at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 before facing Incarnate Word at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18. The Eagles defeated the Huskies 2-0 last season in their first-ever meeting and will face the Cardinals for the first time in program history.
 

FGCU returns to ASUN play at Queens at 7 p.m. on Sept. 26 before closing out September with a home matchup against in-state foe FIU at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29, the 18th all-time meeting between the programs.

October opens with three straight home matches. Bellarmine visits Pickering Field at 7 p.m. on Oct. 3, the Eagles last met the Knights in the 2024 ASUN Tournament quarterfinals, advancing via a 5-4 PKs victory. In-state foe FAU follows at 7 p.m. on Oct. 6, with the Eagles owning an all-time record of 6-9-2 against the Owls. Lipscomb rounds out the homestand at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10, with FGCU having defeated the Bisons 2-0 last season to push its all-time mark to 11-8-1.

The Eagles then head to Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. on Oct. 17, a program FGCU defeated 2-1 in their last meeting in 2024.

The home slate closes with a conference matchup against Stetson at 7 p.m. on Oct. 24. FGCU defeated the Hatters 1-0 last season and carries an 11-8-3 all-time record. The regular season concludes at Jacksonville at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31, with the Eagles holding a 14-6-3 all-time advantage in the series.

The ASUN Men's Soccer Championship runs from Nov. 7-14, with quarterfinal, semifinal and final rounds at campus sites. FGCU will look to hoist the ASUN trophy for the first time since 2016 and earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
