FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU has added a pair of five-star signees to its men's tennis roster, head coach
Josh Molino announced Tuesday. The additions give the Eagles a quartet of five-star players on their roster entering the 2026-27 season.
Brennan Chow, a transfer from BYU, and Gabriel Valdes, a five-star player out of Miami True North Classical High School, will join an already competitive lineup for the Green & Blue this fall.
This gives FGCU four players on its roster who were five-star recruits out of Florida high schools, as Chow and Valdes join
Stefan Correa (Miami) and
Tanner Povey (Belleair Bluffs).
"We are extremely pleased with this year's recruiting class," Molino said. "Adding a pair of five stars from South Florida adds depth and talent to an already experienced group. Both Brennon and Gabriel are great additions on and off the court, and we are excited for them and their families to experience the next few years with the Eagle Family."
Chow returns to the Sunshine State after spending his freshman season at BYU where he went 7-4 in doubles play with a 6-9 mark in singles action. Included in that was a 5-1 mark at the Rahlston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge hosted by SMU in Dallas. During singles play, Chow swept through the round robin competition with wins over opponents from Rice, SMU and Tulane. In doubles action, he posted wins over Rice and SMU.
For the second straight season Molino has signed a five-star recruit out of a Miami high school with the addition of Valdes. Currently ranked 64
th in the country for this year's recruiting class, he comes from a tennis pedigree as his father, Kevin, is a tennis director at a club in Miami. Valdes was named the Dade Tennis Player of the Year back in May.
