Eagles ready for NCAA Marana Regional

MARANA, Ariz. – The Florida Gulf Coast University men's golf team is set to make its third NCAA Regional appearance as the Eagles travel to the Marana Regional at The Gallery Golf Club in Marana, Arizona, from May 18-20.

FGCU's previous regional appearances came as a No. 9 seed at the Columbus Regional in 2022 and as a No. 10 seed at the Amherst Regional in 2025. The program has also sent individual representatives to the NCAA Championship in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2021 and 2024.

The Gallery Golf Club is a par 72, 7,317-yard course. FGCU will begin play on No. 10 with tee times starting at 8:25 a.m. local time (11:25 a.m. ET) on Monday. The Eagles will be paired alongside golfers from Saint Mary's College of California and Tarleton State University.

The Eagles are the No. 10 seed in the Marana Regional. They will be joined by seeds No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Arizona, No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Duke, No. 6 Clemson, No. 7 San Diego State, No. 8 Arkansas State, No. 9 West Virginia, No. 11 Saint Mary's, No. 12 Tarleton State, No. 13 North Dakota State and No. 14 Iona.

FGCU's lineup will feature Nolan Harper, Sebastian Gamboa, Sacha Ruiz, Brett Moore and Christian Figueredo, with Tom Scullion serving as the team's alternate. All five starters competed at the Amherst Regional last season with the exception of Ruiz, who makes his first NCAA Regional appearance. Harper, Gamboa, Moore and Figueredo bring valuable regional experience back to the lineup.

"If we can continue to lean on each other and be a good group of brothers, the sky's the limit," Harper said. "We're having a ton of fun and playing good golf while we're doing it."

The Eagles enter the Marana Regional ranked No. 57 nationally (Scoreboard – Powered by Clippd) with a team scoring average of 282.2 across 12 stroke-play events. FGCU claimed three team victories on the season - the West Bay Collegiate Invitational, the Johnnie-O at Sea Island and the ASUN Championship - as well as three individual titles. Gamboa won the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational and the ASUN Individual Championship, while Ruiz captured the Giles-Spratley Collegiate crown. The Eagles' most notable team triumph came April 23, when they claimed their first-ever ASUN Championship by an 11-stroke margin over runner-up Stetson.

Harper leads the lineup ranked No. 171 nationally with a 70.2 scoring average across 11 events. He recorded seven top-12 finishes this season, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the Ka'anapali Classic in Hawaii at 16-under par. Harper was named First Team All-ASUN.

Gamboa enters ranked No. 215 with a 70.6 scoring average across 12 events. The two-time individual winner this season took the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational at 14-under and captured the ASUN Individual Championship at 12-under. Gamboa was also named First Team All-ASUN.

Six 54-hole NCAA Regional tournaments will be conducted from May 18-20. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of the three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams (30 teams total) and the low individuals (six individuals total) not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

The NCAA Golf Championship will take place from May 28-June 2, at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
