FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU will head to Miami on Thursday to experience a unique setting. The Eagles (6-9) are set to face Fordham (4-8) at the Biltmore Tennis Center as part of The X Invitational.
The X Invitational is a multi-city tennis classic that provides teams the opportunity to compete and train in unforgettable settings and facilities, operating in San Diego and Miami.
Fordham enters the match at 4-8 overall but has a 1-8 record away from home this season. The Rams are led this year by Dhanajay Karthik Athreya, who brings a 6-7 record after having won three of his past five matches.
The Eagles have a 6-9 mark but have won five of their last six contests.
Stefan Correa has been on a roll lately, having won five straight singles matches to push his record to 10-6 on the year.
FGCU and Fordham will meet for the first time when the two programs take the courts at the Biltmore Tennis Center at 11 a.m. The Green & Blue are 5-2 all-time against Atlantic 10 Conference programs with all seven prior matches taking place in Fort Myers.
