Men's soccer to honor three on Senior Night

Brian Lopez, Jai Sahni and Eduard Garcia to be recognized pregame

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast men's soccer continues its homestand with senior night and the nonconference finale at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night against FAU.

The Eagles will honor midfielder Brian Lopez, midfielder Jai Sahni and goalkeeper Eduard Garcia for senior night. Garcia is in his third year at FGCU, while Lopez and Sahni both arrived with head coach Oliver Twelvetrees ahead of the 2025 season. Sahni and Lopez each have two assists as Eagles, and Garcia's breakout season has come in his final year of collegiate eligibility. He earned his first career win over Virginia and is 3-0-2 in net in 2026.

The last time out, FGCU picked up its second consecutive draw in ASUN play with a 1-1 result against Bellarmine. Aron Martinez scored his sixth goal of 2026 in the 23rd minute when he played a ball up the far side of the field into the box, then sidestepped before netting his sixth goal of the season.

His six scores are tied for the most in the ASUN, and are already the most by an Eagle in a single season since Davi Alves had seven in 2022. He now sits on the precipice of a top-10 goal scoring season in program history; Martinez's next goal will tie for the fifth-most in a single season in FGCU history.

FAU enters at 3-1-5 and a 2-0-2 mark on the road. The Owls' three wins have come over Mercer, North Florida and Tulsa, while their only loss was against Temple. Otherwise, FAU has played teams evenly, with draws to No. 20 NC State, RV Memphis, and UCF, among others.

Michel Tentchou tops the scoresheet for the Owls with four goals and one assist on the campaign. FAU boasts a quartet of players with a pair of goals in Xavi Csato, Dj Koulai, Francesco Aiello and Emil Lausten. Csato and David Jesus each have three assists for the Owls.

Alfred Mikkelsen has totaled all 810 minutes in goal for FAU. He has 24 saves to 11 goals allowed for a .686 save percentage, and has recorded four shutouts in net.

The Owls lead the all-time series 9-6-2, but FGCU is 4-3-1 in Fort Myers. The last time the two sides met, FAU recorded a 2-1 win on Oct. 8, 2025 in Boca Raton. The Eagles' most recent win came at home on Oct. 18, 2022, also by a 2-1 score.  2026 will mark the fifth consecutive season FAU and FGCU have met in October.
