TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles turned in a season-best second-place finish Friday night under the lights at the Nike Town Twilight in Terre Haute, Ind. Three Eagles clocked top 10 times while
Siyabonga Mokgothu and
Innocent Ntwali both finished in the top five for the Blue and Green.

FGCU finished with 44 points, only behind UC San Diego who won the team title with 33 points. The Eagles were well ahead of third place Southern Indiana who closed with 81 points while Indiana-East and Southeast Missouri rounded out the top five.

"We really wanted the win today, but we gave away too many points in the second half of the race" FGCU head coach
Argeo Cruz said. There are lots of takeaways from this race, but regardless, a second-place finish is a solid showing for our team."

Siyabonga Mokgothu paced the Eagles in front with a 25:01.1 which was good for 3
rd while
Innocent Ntwali passed eight runners in the final 3000m to cross the finish line behind him with a 25:22.3, good for a 4
th place finish.
Evan Casterline put together a strong finish as well to move his way into the top 10 with a 25:30.3 which was 7
th best.
Andrew Wilcox finished 15
th and
Victor Kemboi turned in a 22
nd place finish.

The Eagles return to the Sunshine State for their final race of the regular season on October 16
th in Lakeland when they look to defend their team title at the Ed Holloway Classic.
