Eagles in South Region Rankings for program record third straight week

First time in program history Eagles have been ranked three straight weeks

NEW ORLEANS, La.- Drawing a No. 15 mark in the week three USTFCCCA South Region Rankings on Monday, the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles have now been ranked three straight weeks for the first time in program history.

Five of the top six teams in the poll hailed from the SEC with Alabama on top, followed by Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and then Ole Miss following Middle Tennessee St. at No. 5. FGCU was one of just six non-power four teams in the South Region Ranking.

The Eagles challenged for a team title at the Nike Town Twilight in Terre Haute, Ind. over the weekend, ultimately settling for a season-best second-place finish. It is the third straight top three finish for FGCU who was third at both the Florida Intercollegiate Invitational and FSU Pre-Regional to kick off their season.

The Eagles will run one more time in the regular season when they take part in the Ed Holloway Classic October 16th in Lakeland before turning their attention to the ASUN Championships in Richmond, Ky. at the end of the month.
