TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles return to action on Friday morning at the FSU Pre-Regional in Tallahassee, looking to build upon a good start to the season which saw them finish third at the Florida Intercollegiate Invitational in Jacksonville.

Three Eagles broke the program record in the 5k in their opening meet of the 2026 season with Jacob Leon, Evan Casterline, and Innocent Ntwali going under the previous best mark. Ntwali's 15:03.37 shattered the previous mark of 15:24.1 to become the new FGCU record holder.

As a team the Eagles put together a solid top three finish in their opening meet in Jacksonville, coming in in front of ASUN rival Stetson, Miami, and FIU in third place.

The Eagles bump it up to an 8k race on Friday in Tallahassee. Both Siyabonga Mokgothu and Innocent Ntwali have marks inside the top 10 of the FGCU record book at that distance with Mokgothu's 24:22.7 at the ASUN Championships last season the third best in program history and Ntwali's 24:36.3 at the Louisville Classic ranking seventh.

The gun for Friday's meet at Apalachee Regional Park will sound at 7:40 a.m. with the women's race to follow.
