FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University men's soccer was selected to finish second in the Atlantic Sun preseason poll, the conference announced today.

FGCU received one first place vote and totaled 46 points in the poll. Last season, the Eagles were slated to finish fourth.

The ASUN is moving to divisional play with home-and-home matches against the three other conference schools in Florida. The top three teams in the poll are all in the same division as FGCU with North Florida slated first and Stetson predicted to finish third.

The Eagles are a brand new look under first year head coach Oliver Twelvetrees. Thirteen newcomers join the flock including four who follow Twelvetrees from CSU Pueblo.

Victor Lopes returns to Fort Myers after a ASUN Tournament All-Conference Team performance in 2024. The stalwart center back from Brazil will provide the defensive guile for the Eagles this season.

The Green and Blue open up the season against SIU-Edwardsville on Sept 21 on the road with the home opener against Florida Memorial on Sept 9. Conference play begins at home against Stetson on Sept 27 with the ASUN Tournament taking place from Nov 8-15.
