FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University women's basketball head coach Raina Harmon has added a seventh player to the 2025–26 roster with the signing of Eve Alexander from Florida A&M University.
Alexander joins recent signees Jalei O'Neal (Eastern Florida State College), Anasia Staton (Towson), Sinai Douglas (Michigan State), Shameir Quimby (Miami Dade College), Airah Lavy (Saint Francis University) and Mikayla Paschal (Lakewood High School).
A 6-foot-2 forward from Lafayette, Louisiana, Alexander is a product of Lafayette Christian Academy. She is the tallest player on FGCU's roster since 6-foot-3 standout Whitney Knight, who last played during the 2014–15 season.
Returning from the 2024–25 season is starter Cerina Rolle, who rejoined the team after entering the transfer portal, and key bench contributor Karina Gordon. Jordan Campbell, Maca Retamales (also back from the portal) and Anna Mortag round out the returners for Harmon and company.
As a freshman at Florida A&M, Alexander averaged 4.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 14.0 minutes per game. She played in 23 contests and started once at Southern University.
She posted a season-, career- and game-high 14 points in a win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, knocking down three 3-pointers. Alexander reached double figures three times, scoring 10 points against ASUN opponent North Florida and added 12 against Samford.
On the boards, her season high was seven rebounds, recorded at Grambling State, where she also tallied two blocks. Alexander shot 41.5 percent from the field, 75.0 percent from the free-throw line and 27.3 percent from beyond the arc (12 of 44).
